Their flagship store and New York has unionized along with 3-4 other stores! This is happening! People are tired of being seen as dollar signs and being made to work just to get to work more, to survive instead of thrive. Keep it UP.
so SAG-AFTRA finally released some official guidance for fans, viewers, creators/influencers, critics, and more during the strike. here’s what you need to know:
if you see a publication/news source/journalist talking about a piece of struck work, that’s ok. they’re allowed to do that.
2. they’re asking regular viewers and fans to DONATE TO STRIKE FUNDS, SHOW UP TO PICKETS IF YOU CAN, and please do NOT boycott streaming services or movies in theaters.
3. influencers, content creators, cosplayers, and anything in between is still a bit of a grey area, but they’re asking people to use their best judgement. “organically” means UNPAID promo (like an invite to a premiere without being paid, being sent a publicity box, letting the company’s social media post a photo of you in cosplay, etc).
obviously this doesn’t answer every question, and isn’t hard and fast rules for fanworks, but it can at least inform how you personally choose to move forward when posting online and moving publically. i hope this helps!

I am struggling so hard with wtf to do as a fan and consumer. I want to support the Actors and Writers and not the streaming services and studios. I don’t want to use the services because I don’t want them to think they’ll get viewership with or without the creative people doing all the work. But I also don’t want to not watch my stuff because I want my shows and movies to be successful and have good viewership so the things I love don’t get canceled.
My freaking brain hurts. Should I watch my hard copies of the Nanny or should I stream it!? Should I watch my DVD of Norma Rae or should I purchase it digitally? I know a lot of folks are saying to watch things normally because there hasn’t been a call for a boycott yet. Which makes since because it’ll show as better viewership and it should help illustrate to the AMPTP these people are the most important people in the industry and without them they have no business but I am so conflicted! PLEASE FRAN DRESCHER TELL ME WHAT TO DO!
I am so FREAKING Close to being done with Chapter 10! Hope to have it posted by the end of the day. I just gotta iron out a few things but I am so close I can almost touch it!
